1: Senior Knowledge Management & Learning Officer

  • DIVISION: Impact
  • TEAM: MEAL Team
  • LOCATION: Addis Ababa
  • CONTRACT TYPE: Fixed Term contract for two years with the possibility of extension
  • GRADE: D1 National                                                       
  • JOB FAMILY: Programme
  • SALARY: As per the Oxfam benefit Package
  • HOURS: 37.5 hours per week
  • FLEXIBLE WORKING
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Development studies, Statistics/Management knowledge management, Language and Literature, communications, Journalism, and project management)
  • Minimum 6 years preferably in the long term, humanitarian, advocacy and campaign programs and local contexts in Ethiopia
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Knowledge and practice of SAFE programming and international standards like Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS), SPHERE, LEGS etc
  • Proven ability & experience in a similar position
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to work in a challenging and dynamic context
  • Fluent English language, ability to communicate in local language would be an added advantage
  • Commitment to overcome poverty and suffering
  • Excellent English writing skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in response to changing needs
  • Proven experience in gender analysis and integrating gender and safe programming(protection) into programs
  • Ability to travel and to work in difficult circumstances

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting or any other related areas that can bring added value to the job from a recognized university/college.
  • Relevant 7 years of experience in financial management out of which 2 years should be supervisory/managerial experience.
  • The professionally qualified finance manager, preferably with some experience in a large and/or complex organization, and the ability to influence and support colleagues in appreciating the importance of financial standards, procedures, and controls.
  • An understanding of gender and diversity considerations within key areas of responsibility and commitment to addressing inequalities in the workplace and the program
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including high-level interpersonal and representational capabilities
  • A strong commitment to Oxfam’s proposes, a broad understanding of the work culture in the “development” sector and its impact on key areas of responsibility and a commitment to humanitarian principles and action
  • Trustworthy, Flexibility and adaptability
  • Willingness to travel at short notice, and often in difficult circumstances
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential
