With a focus on women and children, the organization strives to overcome the most critical health challenges facing the continent: maternal and child health, HIV & TB, malaria, water and sanitation and health systems strengthening. Amref Health Africa in Ethiopia has been working in Ethiopia since 2002 in close collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health implementing a range of projects in maternal, neonatal and child health, reproductive health, health systems strengthening, health workforce development, water and sanitation, HIV/AIDS and non-communicable diseases across the country, supported by a wide range of multilateral and bilateral donors, corporates and foundations.

Under the supervision of National Program Coordinator, the Program Officer will be responsible for the overall management and facilitation of the program implementation and project development phase including assessment, planning, implementation, monitoring, networking, partnership and reporting of the project activities at the zonal level. The implementation of the program including provision of technical support and capacity building activities for the Amref program woredas, health facilities and community health actors to ensure RESET Plus FP activities and projects of Amref is integrated and implemented for better outcomes.

Amref Health Africa would like to recruit Program Officer for its RESET Plus Family Planning project and other Amref project based in Wolaita Soddo, Borena, Afar/Semera and Waghimra zones and will report to National Program Coordinator.

1: Program Officer

  • BSc/MPH in health-related fields
  • Minimum of 5 year of experience for BSc or 3 years for MPH in SRH/FP project implementation, Youth and woman empowerment
  • Experience in conducting research
  • Experience in conducting training
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Communication & writing skills in both Amharic & English
  • Excellent computer skills
  • In addition, the ideal candidate must have strong analytical, problem solving and networking skills.
  • Be a team player and communicator and work under minimal supervision.

2: Knowledge Management and Communications Advisor

  • Master’s degree in statistics, health informatics, marketing or social science or equivalent education and at least 7 years work experience;
  • BSc degree in statistics, health informatics, marketing or social science or equivalent education and 10 years work experience;
  • Experience cultivating relationships and collaborating with a variety of Ethiopian stakeholders including youth, government ministries and officials, NGOs, donors, the private sector, and community-based institutions;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skill; Experience working collaboratively with teams from diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge and experience in different data base and statistical packages (DHIS2, SPSS, STATA, Epi Info, Microsoft office applications)
  • Spoken and written fluency in English and Amharic
  • Demonstrated commitment to creating a learning environment in an activity including experiences leading knowledge management practices
  • Strong presentation, reporting, and communication skills; Ability to work effectively under pressure

3: Assistant Accountant

  • Terms of employment: one year with possible extension
  • Duty Station: Wolaita Soddo
  • Required number: –    1
  • Diploma in Accounting from recognized college.
  • Ø  At least three years relevant work experience in a busy NGO.
  • Ø  Direct experience in cash handling.
  • Ø  Communication & writing skills in both Amharic & English
  • Ø  Excellent computer skills: Ms windows, Ms Word and Excel,
  • Ø   NGO experience is an advantage and willing to work in Field areas
  • Ø  In addition the ideal candidate must have strong analytical, problem solving and networking skills.
  • Ø  Be a team player and communicator and work under minimal supervision.

4: ADMIN AND FINANCE OFFICER

  • Required number: –   1
  • BA Degree or College Diploma in accounting, management and related field of studies with minimum of three years or five years relevant experience respectively
  • Profound experience in finance, administration, logistics and HR Management
  • Computer literate
  • NGO experience is an advantage
  • Good communication and report writing skills

5:Regional Programme Support Lead

  • Master’s in Public Health, Social Sciences, Business Administration, International Development or similar field studies;
  • Seven years of work experience; three years should be in a managerial position;
  • §  Ability to supervise personnel and build and maintain strong team; Experience working collaboratively with teams from diverse backgrounds
  • §  Experience developing and implementation effective capacity strengthening models and approaches for local CSO, government stakeholders and individuals
