1: Technical Deputy Chief of Party- Ethiopia Food and Agriculture System Transformation (FAST) Activity

  • Practice area(s): Agriculture and Food Security
  • Location(s): Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

  • A Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, agriculture, economics, international development, or another relevant field. A Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least (7) seven years of experience working in a progressively responsible capacity for agriculture, food security and nutrition, market systems and/or other relevant technical areas for USAID and other donor-funded projects in Ethiopia or East Africa
  • At least three (3) years in a senior-level director- or manager-level position, leading complex programming in an international development project context. USAID experience preferred.
  • Proven track record managing multi-disciplinary development program teams and stakeholders
  • Proven experience fostering collaborative learning and adaptive management, and integrating social inclusion with women, youth, and other vulnerable populations in project activities
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) required. Amharic language skills a plus.

2: Operations Deputy Chief of Party- Ethiopia Food and Agriculture System Transformation (FAST) Activity

  • *At least eight years of experience with USAID project management including progressively greater responsibility managing and supporting procurement and grants management, human resources, budgeting and finance, compliance, work planning and reporting, monitoring, evaluation and learning, and communications.
  • *Strong report writing skills demonstrated through high quality contributions to work plans and progress reports.
  • *Successful track record in a supervisory role and in providing feedback and guidance to technical and administration personnel.
  • *Demonstrated capacity to work in a fast-paced context and across cultures.
  • *Experience in East Africa and Ethiopia preferred.
  • *Fluency in English (written and spoken) required. Amharic language skills a plus.

  • At least five (5) years in a senior level director- or manager-level position, leading complex, multi-million dollar programming in an international development project context. Previous experience as a Chief of Party for large USAID contracts preferred.
  • Proven experience fostering collaborative learning and adaptive management, and integrating social inclusion with women, youth, and other vulnerable populations
  • Proven track record managing and coordination collaboration among multi-disciplinary development program teams and stakeholders
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) required. Amharic language skills a plus.
