Cordaid, in collaboration with i+solutions under the Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands funded Performance Based Financing Project in Ethiopia, will implement a pilot in the Jimma zone to help health centers improve availability of medicines and optimize the health supply chain. The pilot will aim to better understand the current gaps and barriers in availability of medicines, particularly at the last mile of the supply chain. Cordaid and i+solutions plan to implement Medexis, i+solutions’ easy-to-use electronic logistics management information system (eLMIS) application in 15-50 health centers in the Jimma zone, and to provide training to local health center staff in ordering, forecasting and quantification.

  • Experience in monitoring & evaluation.

5: Communications Officer

  • Required qualifications:  Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of communications experience working for a non-profit (NGO), media outlet, marketing, or ad agency preferably in an international development/aid context.
  • Possess excellent skills in: Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat), Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) and (Web) Content Management Systems (e.g., WordPress). Basic graphic design and HTML skills are strongly required.
  • Familiar with online fundraising, email marketing and donation platforms. CRM experience is a plus.
  • Keen interest in and knowledge of international relief and development or related fields; prior experience working at an international organization strongly preferred.
  • Must be consultative and able to effectively collaborate and engage with the Cordaid Ethiopia team and other stakeholders internally and externally to meet communications objectives.

6: Clinical Quality Improvement Specialist

  • Required Qualifications : University Master’s degree in Public Health, with advanced basic training in QI.
  • BSc in clinical studies like nursing, midwifery, or medicine
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with at least five (5) years of experience with designing and implementing CQI approaches in Ethiopia or other countries
  • Experience in both operational and technical leadership positions implementing CQI programs in Ethiopia
  • Experience with public health and QI programs supported by bilateral agencies such as World Bank, European Union, DFID, Dutch Embassy and/or Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • Training as a trainer/coach/mentor for quality improvement (QI)
  • Sound experience in providing QI Technical Assistance to Ministries of Health in Ethiopia or other countries
  • Some knowledge and experience in PBF is an added advantage
  • Excellent supervisory and project/people management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously whilst mentoring a team to consistently meet all performance goals.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills in fluent English and Amharic are essential. Proficiency in  Oromifa and/or other local languages is an advantage.

7:  Verification Officer (VO)

  • Independent, dynamic, and capable of organizing his/her work, while having the ability to work accurately.
  • Good networking and social skills.
  • Good command of the Oromiffa and English language.
  • Good experience with relevant computer software packages.
  • Able to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze and present data. Good report writing skills.
  • Able to ride and in the possession of an (Ethiopian) motorbike license.
  • Willing to do field visits and to frequently travel long distances in the Jimma Zone on a motorbike.

8: Assistant Verification Officer (AVO)

  • Public health background with a degree in Nursing, Midwife, Health Promotion or Public Health and at least 1 year working experience (attachments and internship) in the health sector with exposure to PBF processes.
  • 6 months working experience with the Ministry of Health (at district, zonal or regional level) is an advantage.
  • Basic exposure and understanding of Performance Based Financing
  • Knowledge of and working experience in the Amhara Zone is an advantage.

9: Project Coordinator

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine, Public Health, Nursing or any other, similar qualifications in this field.
  • A master degree in Public Health or Medicine constitutes a distinct advantage, as is a professional certification in clinical quality of care and management of quality improvement strategies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in Ethiopian Public Health Services.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in managing a multi stakeholder health project and a team.
  • Ability to lead and manage the multi stakeholder PBF-project, making sure that all PBF-actors are playing their required role effectively.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the Ethiopian HMIS system and DHIS2.
  • Prior working experience with quality improvement in a public health organization is an advantage.
  • Good experience with relevant computer software packages like Ms Word, Excel, Power Point is a must
