The Medical Teams International (MTI) wants to recruit employees in the following vacant positions the details of which are mentioned below.

Position 1: Driver

  • Reports to Direct: Logistic and Procurement Manager
  • Technical:  Health Facility: N/A
  • Field Office: NA Kampala Office: NA
  • Work Days & Hours: Monday-Sunday, 40-48 hours/week as per duty roster. May include weekends, night shifts and public holidays
  • Supervises: Direct NA,  Technical: NA
  • EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Grade 10 Level Certificate of Education is required
  • Possession of a valid Ethiopian driving permit class Level 3
  • Certification in defensive driving from a recognized institution is required
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR is required
  • Certification in vehicle mechanics and maintenance is an added advantage
  •  EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 3 years of heavy vehicle driving in Ethiopia is required
  • Clean driving record is required
  • Experience driving an ambulance and working with an international NGO is an added advantage

Position 2: Cleaner/Cook

  • EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTFICATION 
    • Grade 10 complete or above level Certificate or equivalent is required.
    • Previous experience of cooking and cleaning, including the use of detergent/chemicals and using cleaning machinery for 2 years.
  • EXPERIENCE KNOWLEDGE
    • Knowledge of hygienic cooking procedures and food preparation.
    • Knowledge of cleaning products and supplies.
    • Can cook vegetarian and meet-based meals.
    • Understands food costs and basic inventory coordination.
    • Knowledge of infection prevention and control (IPC) protocol.

    SKILLS

    • Good communication skills, with good command of spoken Amharic and English

Position: 3 Data Entry Clerk

  • Place of Work: Aba’la  
  • Required Number : One (1)
  • Work Days & Hours: Monday-Friday, 40-48 hours/week, occasional weekends and public holidays.
    • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Statistics, Social Work or other related fields.EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTFICATION
    • 1+ years professional experience on data entry after qualificationEXPERIENCE
  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
    • Knowledge of development & humanitarian issues and concepts
    • Fluent spoken and written Afar, Amharic and English.
    • Strong interpersonal and team skills
    • Proven ability to be flexible in demanding situations
    • Excellent communicator
    • Ability to adapt to a changing environment
    • Negotiation and representation skills
    • Analytical and problem solving skills
    • Computer literate, able to work efficiently in Microsoft office on standard or mobile platforms.  Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.

Position 4: Registrar

  • Place of Work: Afar, Zone 2
  • Required Number: 1 (One)
  • Work Days & Hours: Monday-Friday, 40-48 hours/week, occasional weekends and public holidays.
  • EDUCATION, LICENSES, & CERTFICATION: College Diploma in health and related fields
  • EXPERIENCE: At least one year of experience working in a related profession

Position 5: Safety and Security Office

  • Contract: One year (with possibility of extension)
  • Reports to: Country Director
  • Place of Work: Based in Addis Ababa, with significant travel to field sites in Gambella, Borena & Assosa sites
  • ESSENTIAL
    • A formal security qualification or appropriate security management training.
    • Practical field experience in security management in a leadership role (e.g., direct INGO security management).
    • Ability to accurately read and navigate using 1:50000 maps, and plot GPS coordinates.
    • Experience of incident reporting, incident mapping, intelligence collation, and analysis functions, set up and execution of an incident warning system (warden system), and compilation of security reports and assessments.
    • Technical competency and training experience in field-based communications systems such as HF Codan, Motorola VHF, Thuraya, satellite systems, and internet systems.
    • Competency in Internet and Microsoft Office systems including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and other database/mapping systems.
    • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • DESIRABLE
    • Previous security management work experience with international NGOs in Ethiopia/East Africa.
    •  Knowledge of INGO humanitarian work in emergencies.
  • EDUCATION: BA degree in a related field.
    • At least five years of safety and/or security experience is required.
    • Advanced training or certification in safety and security preferred.
