Position: Internship for Human Resource

  • Assist with day to day operations of the HR functions and duties;
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to Human Resources executives;
  • Ensure full compliance of HR activities with Frontieri rules and regulations and the policies procedures and strategies;
  • Compile and update employee records (hard and soft copies);
  • Administer and maintain accurate records through Frontieri staffing table;
  • Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations etc);
  • Provide information and advice to Frontieri personnel on the conditions of assignment, administration of entitlements, insurance, performance management, and learning and development, among others;
  • Provide support to the implementation of the performance appraisal process and follow-through on activities related to performance management;
  • Coordinate HR projects (meetings, training, surveys etc) and take minutes;
  • Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations;
  • Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, bonus, leaves, etc);
  • Communicate with public services when necessary;
  • Properly handle complaints and grievance procedures;
  • Coordinate communication with candidates and schedule interviews;
  • Conduct initial orientation to newly hired employees;
  • Monitor the implementation of strategic staffing policies in line with career development;
  • Assist our recruiters to source candidates and updating our database;
  • Provide support to personnel and partners for official business travels, e.g. flight booking, facilitate accommodations and, vehicle provisions;
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned;

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Human Resource Management, and other related social science field
  • Zero to One year experience in human resources/administrative position
  • Basic knowledge of labor laws
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong communications and writing skills
  • High Computer literate with fast typing (MS Office and MS Excel in particular)

  • Education: Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in information management, information systems, data science, statistics, GIS, or related field.   • Produce 4W data analysis and present the data using tabular/ graphical representation;
  • Work closely with clients to identify their needs and advise on the information products and services that OCHA can offer to enhance their work;
  • Develop strong links with other IM staff in the humanitarian community to promote coordination and information-sharing between organizations;
  • Participate in coordination meetings to identify information needs and provide technical support;
  • Ensure appropriate dissemination of meeting minutes, assessment reports and other information products to relevant partners;
  • Maintain contact and distribution lists;
  • Any other duties as may be requested by the Head of the Information Management Unit.

In late December a labor advisory board composed of state ministers, representatives of the employees, the CETU, and the management of Bole Printing found that both sides were at fault and called for employees terminated as a result of the dispute to be reinstated. The employees were expected to resume their duties

1:Logistic/Finance Intern

Specific Responsibilities                                                     

  • Support in checking the completeness and correctness of payment request documents.
  • Supporting the finance officer in ensuring employee pensions and taxes are paid to the concerned government on time.
  • With the support of assistant HR and Admin officer, facilitating pension account audit.
  • Keeping grant/finance documents properly.
  • Preparing VAT report for reimbursement on monthly base
  • Working with procurement and logistic team such as Purchasing office supplies and facilitate any reservation like hotel, fight…etc.
  • Support finance officer in Ensure HelpAge International’s office supplies, project items and equipment are procured on time and in line with procurement procedure and policy.
  • Support, implement and manage contracts in forwarding, transport, etc.
  • Work on and document preferred suppliers list that is subject to timely revision.
  • Organize all documentations for payments and ensure timely settlements of bills.
  • Maintains documentation on purchases of goods and services for any references.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned by Line Manager
