    • We are looking for a Graduate Trainee to join our Sponsorship department who will mainly be responsible for editing, and composing Sponsorship correspondences and providing support in giving replies to letters and inquiries of sponsors, and acknowledging gifts sent for children. In addition, the graduate trainee will also support in creating initiatives as well as working to achieve the current initiatives to attract new sponsors and maintain the existing ones as a valuable means to cover the financing of SOS programs.

  • Your role….
    • Providing support in reviewing children and facility bi-annual progress sponsorship letters coming from program locations, make sure it is done according to the guide line and make corrections accordingly
    • Providing support in reviewing departure notices prepared by program sponsorship officers, verify the information included on the document is valid and file it accordingly.
    • Providing support in reviewing registration documents prepared by program sponsorship officers, verify accuracy of the child data, background history and file it accordingly.
    • Providing support in reviewing and uploading pictures and videos prepared for the digital lab. Check the captions sent are of good quality.
    • Organizing and updating children and young people’s status
    • Providing support in drafting and writes memos, takes minutes of meetings and gives replies to general queries as instructed.
    • Sorting out information for the purpose of children progress sponsorship letters from other sources at the national office.
    • Providing support in reviewing pictures of individual children and make sure they are up to the standards before printing and dispatch to sponsors.
    • Providing support in ensuring that photographs of all sponsored children are duplicated and labelled according to the number of child sponsors and send to the right sponsors.
    • Providing support in ensuring that all sponsored children’s Christmas greetings are properly prepared.
    • Participating in the preparation of Christmas package to be sent to sponsors with the end of year sponsorship letters.
    • Maintaining strict confidentiality and security in respect of all records, in particular children biography, sponsors data and other sensitive information.
    • Providing support to the department in fund development related initiatives
    • Executing other specific assignments instructed by the National Sponsorship team.

    Child Safeguarding

    • Ensure that consent is signed by the children before and release
    • Develop appropriate content that does not affect the dignity of the children
    • Support children and young people to make them understand the CS risks and protection mechanisms
    • Responsible to report any CS suspicion, concern, allegation or incident immediately, following Child Safeguarding reporting procedures. CS reports should be made to the CS team at programme level and/or to the respective line manager

    Job requirements 

    • BA Degree in English, Literature, Journalism and Communication and other related social science fields
    • Trainings or experience working on MS office, Photography, Videography, Editing, and story or report writing.
    • Extracurricular activities in different volunteer work or school clubs is desirable
    • Fluent written and spoken English skills are expected

Wings Of Healing Vacancy Jobs

The main focus of the Charity is to provide health screening and treatment for many gynaecological conditions in Ethiopia.

Wings of Healing started medical missions in Ethiopia  We conducted 2 medical campaigns every year till 2015. Since then we carried more frequent campaigns. Up to July 2021, WOH carried out over 40 medical missions and performed over 2600 surgical procedures for pelvic organ prolapse and over 100 procedures for different types of gynaecological cancer.

We focus on providing care in the rural areas where expertise and facilities are limited. WOH provides all the surgical material required and provided assistance for patients’ travel. During many campaigns, patients received as well food and clothes. We are currently focusing on training local doctors and nurses in Ethiopia to deliver the service in many parts of the country.

We have provided cervical screening to over 10,000 women in Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charities and many local hospitals and Health Centres. This has prevented at least 3,000 cases of cervical cancer.

Key responsibilities:

Project-based responsibilities

  • Codes research instruments and reviews them to ensure internal flow and consistency.
  • Creates/adapts project specific monitoring tools.
  • Trains audit enumerators on project specific monitoring tools.
  • Conducts regular quality checks on incoming data and shares feedback with project lead in the Data Team.
  • Cleans and further processes incoming data.
  • Reports on the progress of assigned tasks to the Data Quality Associate.

Quality-team based responsibilities

  • Contributes to the development of different data processing and monitoring tools. These tools should be efficient, effective and to the maximum extent automated.
  • Works closely with other teams within Laterite to ensure quality control at the different stages of a research project cycle.
  • Builds efficient internal systems for the management of Laterite’s resources and assets.

Minimum qualification and requirements

  • At least 1 year of work experience in a data heavy role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Engineering or related field.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and related tools/software (in particular Stata).
  • Excellent oral and written communications in English and Amharic (any other local language is a plus).
  • Must be an Ethiopian national

Remuneration

Laterite offers a competitive remuneration package, including medical insurance and 21 days of annual leave. We are also committed to supporting our staff’s learning, providing an annual learning budget of up to $1,000 per person and 10 days of time off for professional learning each year. We also provide remote work options in accordance with Laterite’s remote work policy.

The salary for this role is between ETB 43,000 and ETB 59,000 net per month. The salary is paid in local currency and is re-adjusted for any devaluation in the currency compared to the US dollar based on the latest exchange rate (USD to local currency) of January 1st each year. The exact salary grade will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience and performance in interviews. Salaries are pegged against the pay matrix, and grades are reviewed every 6 months. There is ample opportunity for growth both in terms of salary scales and roles. Promotions at Laterite are reviewed every 6 months during our performance evaluation.
