The Applications are open to apply for the GovAI Summer Fellowship 2025. It is a fully funded three-month fellowship in London from 9th June to 31 August 2025. The Fellowship is open to applicants from all around the world. The GovAI is looking for early-career individuals, and professionals new to AI governance to Join their Team in London and learn more about AI Governance and make connections with other fellows and experienced practitioners.

AI Governance means to set the rules, principles, and responsible AI development and its ethical use. Fellows will Join the Summer Fellowship in London and they will conduct independent research on a topic of their choice under the Guidance of the supervisor. There is no application fee and there are no specific educational requirements for this Fellowship.

The GovAI will also sponsor the Visa for the applicants. More details are given below.

Objective of the GOVAI Fellowship

  • Workshops for Personal and Professional Development: The goal of these sessions is to improve and strengthen the practical skills of scholars. Public speaking, data analysis, conflict management, and adaptation are a few topics covered in past workshops.
  • Experiential Learning: Students will work on Columbia World Projects projects, which will give them practical experience.
  • Audited Coursework: Each semester at Columbia, scholars will have the academic freedom to select and enrol in a maximum of two graduate-level courses.
  • Thought Leadership Speaker Series: To broaden their networks and perspectives, scholars will interact with seasoned practitioners from the government, philanthropy, NGO community, and international organizations.
  • Columbia faculty guide: Each scholar will be paired with a Columbia faculty guide in order to be exposed to fresh ideas and viewpoints.
  • Interaction with the Columbia University Community: Students will actively participate in the academic activities of the campus and engage with a variety of individuals and their viewpoints.

  • The ideal candidates are up-and-coming leaders who have already had a significant impact on their industry and are currently experiencing a professional “breakthrough.”
  • They should have a track record of leadership and service within their nation, region, or community, and they should be determined to give back to these areas by using their  education, experience, and connections to improve them.
  • Candidates must speak, write, and understand English fluently.
  • Candidates should to be able and willing to positively influence the future of their community.
