The German Embassy Addis Ababa is the competent authority for Schengen Visa with proof of the legal habitual residence in Ethiopia. The German Embassy Addis Ababa is the competent authority for National Visa with proof of the habitual residence in Ethiopia or Djibouti.
The German Embassy Nairobi is the competent authority for Schengen and National Visa of Somali nationals with proof of the habitual residence in Somalia/Somaliland. A short-term trip to Ethiopia isn’t justifying a Visa application at the German Embassy Addis Ababa. Applications will be rejected.

Position: Marketing Officer
Required Qualification and Experience:
- Studies or training in communication, journalism, public relations, marketing or related disciplines Administration
- Professional experience and solid understanding of marketing strategies and digital marketing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; basic knowledge of German is desireable – Willingness to work on weekends and in the evenings due to school events – Proven knowledge of common office and administrative software (MS Office, Access database Outlook), WordPress CMS and graphic design software such as InDesign or Illustrator
- Responsible, versatile personality with good manners and ability to work in a team; high motivation and commitment
- Experience in the host country Ethiopia is an advantage
Tasks:
- Recognition of the Design and development of a new corporate identity
- Elaboration of a marketing concept
- Responsibility for DBSAA website content, content development and management including social media (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedInetc.)
- Creation of modern marketing products like flyers, posters, brochures, image film, creative merchandising
- Documentation of school events and school and kindergarten life in general (photo and film)
- Coordination and design of the school’s annual yearbookOrganization and implementation of the annual trade fair appearance at didacta in Germany
- Design of info areas on the school grounds as well as promotional material for school
- internal events
- Development and implementation of a donation and sponsor program, e.g. for scholarship holders, projects, research partnerships
- Establishment and maintenance of contacts to local, German and European companies
- Fundraising in Germany to support projects at DBSAA
- Support of the school store with merchandising sales
Start Date: 01.09.2023 (contract initially for one year with possibility of extension).
Scope of work: part-time (25 h/week)
